Verschlossene Rückwege

Scipio zitiert Erik Peterson (aus dem Epilog zu seinem Briefwechsel mit Adolf Harnack von 1928):

Nimmt man jedoch seine Zuflucht zu dem Begriff einer spezifisch kirchlichen Öffentlichkeit, dann erhebt sich notwendigerweise die Forderung nach einer Dogmenbildung im Sinne des Katholizismus und nach einer dogmatischen Lehrautorität in der Kirche, was doch durch die protestantischen Voraussetzungen wiederum ausgeschlossen ist. Wenn es nun aber kein Dogma im echten Sinne in der protestantischen Kirche gibt, dann ist auch keine Theologie möglich. Denn es gibt keine Theologie ohne Dogmatik und keine Dogmatik ohne Dogma.

Ja, das Dogma. Sperrig steht es da im kirchlichen Raum, als Stein des Anstoßes. Mit schlechtem Ruf, denn dogmatisch möchte doch niemand mehr sein, da anything goes. Und es offenkundig rechtfertigungspflichtig geworden ist, dem Relativismus zu widersprechen.
