Ist der Dalai Lama ein Liberaler oder ein Konservativer?

No one ever asks wether the Dalai Lama is a liberal or conservative Buddhist. Why? Because we instinctively understand that these are the wrong categories through which to grasp the nature and purpose of a venerable, subtle, and richly textured religious tradition. Shouldn’t the same self-discipline be applied to thinking about the Catholic Church?

Hab ich auch grad gelesen. George Weigel, finde ich persönlich, schafft das auch, ohne die typische Rhetorik des Konservativen oder des Liberalen zu benutzen, ganz modern die Inhalte des Katholizismus zu transportieren.

Ich stimme Ihnen zu, daß die Kategorien in religiösem Bereich unpassend sind. Aber daß derlei Fragen keineswegs im buddhistischen Kontext nicht gestellt werden, beweist dieser Artikel (und die Postings dazu):
